Diwali is almost here and most of us are still confused about what to wear to the office party for Diwali celebrations. We tell you about some easy-to-compile outfit fit for a festive season. This time around, don’t shy away from experiment from different hues and silhouette. Give traditional and ethnic wear a spin and get ready to make heads turn with your contemporary festive style.

1. Add a poncho

We’ve seen it on runways and on stylish Bollywood stars, it’s time you try it too. This single piece of clothing can turn any outfit from drab to fab! Wear it with a lehenga, over a tunic or as a top with slim pants.

2. Pair saree with pants

This trend is tried & tested by me and it’s not just for the likes of Sonam Kapoor or Deepika Padukone, you too can wear it with elan. Pants are more comfortable and give you more room to walk around easily. During parties, comfort is what you need most. Choose slim pants – blingy or not, you’re going to stand out!

3. Dhoti saree

This festive season, drape your saree dhoti style. It’s yet another improvisation of the humble saree. Don’t get intimidated by the pictures of Bollywood celebs you see online, it is rather easy. You can get a pre-draped dhoti saree or you can just follow experts on YouTube. Choose pastel shades like rose pink and powder blue.

4. Peplum jacket

Throwing a jacket on turns a look around by 360 degrees! Embroidered peplum jackets are this season’s favorite. Try your hands on this versatile silhouette by pairing it with satin straight pants, dhoti pants, embroidered pants or skirt.

5. Cape kurti

The cape is back and how! A cape kurti is a latest addition to the fashion scene and the one that’s pictured above is what we are digging right now! This short embroidered kurti with cigarette pants is a far cry from the loud and garish outfits we often tend to choose for our festive look. This Diwali, wear ethnic whites and get the town talkin’!

6. Finish off your look with bling

To complete your look, we suggest you take out your sky high heels for an added oomph. Blingy stilettos with ankle straps in silver and golden are our favorites. You can also go overboard with the jewelry because we like ’em big and flashy!
